How This Calculator Works
This calculator uses the flat interest rate method, which is how Singapore car loans are conventionally advertised: total interest is calculated once on the original loan amount for the full loan tenure, rather than reducing as the balance is paid down. This is different from the Effective Interest Rate (EIR), which reflects the true cost of borrowing and is meaningfully higher than the flat rate shown.
